In Germany, the Netherlands started the European Championship with a 7-0 win over Austria. Brands made it 2-0 via a penalty corner, De Geus did that trick with the 6-0. The next game against the Czech Republic was won 3-0. Imhof opened the score, after which De Geus made it 2-0 with her second goal of the tournament. SCHC keeper Alexandra Heertbaart kept a clean sheet in both matches.
