Sahar feels hopeful after the announcement from the Swedish Migration Agency

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Six years ago, Sahar Soltani came to Sweden from Afghanistan with her family.

The family has received several rejections, the latest rejection came only a few months ago. But after yesterday’s announcement that the Swedish Migration Agency is stopping deportations of women to Afghanistan, Sahar feels a glimmer of hope. But she doesn’t dare to hope too much until she gets a residence permit.

– I feel a little hope, but that disappointment after you have received hope is very difficult, she says.

Although she is relieved by the announcement that she, her mother and sisters get the chance for a residence permit, she is disappointed that the deportation freeze does not include all Afghans and the rest of her family.

– Now I don’t know what will happen to my father and my younger brothers, she says.
