“We want to accommodate status holders more quickly in the municipality to which they have been assigned,” says a spokesman for Thuisgevers. “Now they are stuck for months or even years in a place where they do not belong,” she says, referring to the asylum seekers’ center. “This way they can start a new life in their new place of residence.” A volunteer from the foundation will be present in the presbytery to keep an eye on things and to show people around.
