Conquest points have existed in Fortnite since the release of Chapter 4. We’ll show you what it’s all about, where you can find it and whether it’s worth it for you.
What are capture points? In Fortnite you can travel to various POIs on the new map to take so-called “conquest points”. These points are marked with a huge white circle and a flag construct in the center of the POI.
As a player, you now have the option of capturing them to gain control of the area. Despite the simple system, many players die trying to conquer as they are always slaughtered. We will show you whether the effort of an income is worthwhile at all.

Now that you’ve decided to claim a territory, you need to know what you’ll get in return.
If the takeover is successful, all nearby enemies will be marked with an arrow. In addition, all boxes in the area can be spotted through walls and as a bonus you will receive a collection of weapons, items and grenades.
Not a bad deal, but the risk of dying is very high. Players notice in your environment whether a place is currently being taken. This makes you an easy target as you have to stay in the white circle until the zone is taken.
However, if you are looking for a more remote POI, you can count on less enemy contact and thus equip yourself well with weapons and items at the beginning of a round. So it’s definitely worth it if you have a good tactic.
This is how you can easily conquer territories: To easily capture a capture zone, you should either go to a remote area or wait for a team to attempt to capture one. You can surprise your opponents with an ambush, rocket launchers or the new shockwave hammer and sweep them off the scene in no time at all.
The zones are often in open spaces with little cover, so it pays to clear the area of enemies first. To get better cover afterwards, you can place cowcatchers or pocket forts. This will ensure you an easier conquest.
Where can I find capture points? To find a capture point, you need to visit a large POI. You can find this on the map. Only large POIs are documented with their place names on the map. Now go to one of these locations and look for a large white circle with a banner.
Also note that an area that has already been taken can still be taken. However, the conqueror in front of you will be informed of this and could also become aware of you.
That was all the important information about the capture points. What do you think of the new system behind the areas? Do you think that makes the match even more exciting? Please leave us a comment!
