Mercedes EQT, which was shown with concept dynamics last year, has reached the dynamics that will reach the end user.
Now it’s time to officially list another important member of Mercedes’ EQ range. EQT, which will also be the answer to the commercial side of the process, greets us with its dynamics ready for mass production, after its concept show last year. Mercedes EQT, whose design dynamics can be written in the common cluster with the new generation T-Class launched in April 2022, will therefore be separated with its concept version. Launching the vehicle with the camping-oriented Marco Polo1 version is a satisfying reward for those who can’t find what they’re looking for on the design side.
Mercedes EQT in numbers
Before the equipment of the product range, let’s first bring our magnifying glass closer to its technical limits. On the battery side of the EQT, a package with a capacity of 45 kWh is currently in the foreground. This package is combined with an electric motor producing 122 PS and 245 Nm of torque. With all the parts coming together, Mercedes shares in the technical table that the vehicle can reach a range of up to 282 kilometers. The maximum speed that the EQT can reach is 134 km/h. Fast charging support will be a savior for the package, which has the potential to be slightly below expectations on the battery side. The package, in which support up to 80 kW is offered, can be brought from 10 percent to 80 percent in 38 minutes, thanks to its compact structure.

When we look at the vehicle in terms of dimensions; We see that it has a length of 4,498 millimeters, a width of 1,859 millimeters, a height of 1,819 millimeters and a wheelbase of 2,716 millimeters. In 2023, it will be possible to see a long-wheelbase variant on the roads. The point where all these values will be most meaningful is undoubtedly the camping and adventure oriented Marco Polo1 version. The exterior equipment of the EQT Marco Polo1 includes a sunroof with a roof bed. Thanks to the scissor design, the sunroof can be easily lifted at a slight angle of inclination to the vehicle roof. In this way, the Concept EQT Marco Polo1 offers enough space for standing at the rear. In addition, the pop-up roof can be opened completely with a zipper at the back or as a window for the familiar feeling of camping freedom.
The solar panel for the Mercedes EQT is not bypassed
Marco Polo1, which also includes a sleeping area measuring 1.97 meters by 97 centimeters on the ceiling bed, provides a high level of sleeping comfort with its point elastic disc spring system. On the other hand, a foldable sleeping area measuring 2 meters by 1.15 meters awaits users at the rear of the vehicle. In the vehicle, where all details are considered for user comfort in the interior design, there is a built-in washing system and a built-in 16-liter compressor cooler on the second row of seats behind the driver’s seat. Two benches directly above the system docked to the second seat offer the necessary space for the preparation of daily food needs.
Marco Polo1, where all the furniture units in the interior are designed to be easily removed by two people in less than 5 minutes, can also be used as a daily vehicle if necessary. With its height of less than two meters, the vehicle is designed to easily enter all garages, multi-storey car parks and car washes in the future. Another eye-catching feature on the QT Marco Polo1 is the solar panel on the pop-up roof. This panel and, in addition, a removable battery unit provide the camping unit with sufficient energy to sustain itself for a certain period of time, while maintaining the vehicle’s range. The additional battery is stored in a drawer in the seat during use. For charging, it can be easily removed and charged at home or even at the campsite. Other highlights include an innovative dimming system for the side-mounted awning and rear windows. These can be colored with the touch of a button.
There is another seat (facing the rear cockpit) on the left inside of the vehicle. In addition, the built-in drawer system integrated into this seat offers sufficient storage space for camping accessories. An induction hob and a flexible removable gas cartridge burner, as well as a drawer that can be removed from the car, await campers. On the right side of the vehicle (facing towards the rear cockpit), there is a folding table that can also be electrically adjusted in height. We will see the final ready-to-sale version of the Marco Polo1 package, which is shown as a concept for now, in the second half of next year. The standard EQT family will be offered with a starting price of 49,000 euros.
