In the election, Nyans bet on winning votes in areas with many immigrants, especially Muslims. Fighting Islamophobia and racism was one of Nyan’s main issues, nationalizing the school another. The party received municipal mandates in Botkyrka and Landskrona.
But now party leader Mikail Yüksel is threatened by internal opposition. Before the extraordinary congress, a report has been drawn up that will form the basis for excluding Yüksel from the party, writes Gothenburg Post.
— It is a ridiculously comical report, produced by an ignorant person. I have read it and I just laugh, says Mikail Yüksel to the newspaper.
Yüksel considers the accusations against him to be far-fetched, and downplays reports of a conflict in the party.
The challenger’s name is Sead Busuladzic and he sits on the Landskrona municipal council. He believes that the party has been too top-managed and is critical of how certain issues have been handled. This includes, among other things, the disinformation campaign that social services kidnap children of Muslim parents.
“Social services is a very sensitive issue,” says Sead Busuladzic to the newspaper and emphasizes that the party did not want to participate in any campaign to harm Sweden.
– We have only raised the issue so that it can be investigated so that you can build trust in the authority, he adds.
