Energy Minister Ebba Busch (KD) dismisses the criticism and does not think that the government has broken its election promise about high-cost protection for the high electricity prices.

    – We follow through on the election promise not to leave the Swedish people in the lurch, but yes, this is a different model, she says in SVT’s Agenda.

She believes that the model was in place before November 1.

    – Svenska kraftnät presented a better model. Everyone worked hard to deliver this before November 1st. We had a model in place before November 1st. But it was a different model and I have no problem defending it because it is better than what we proposed before the election, she says.

  • Drug addicts are sent to rehab

There are no monks left in a temple in Thailand.

Everyone has started doing drugs. The four monks and an abbot were drug tested and all were found to have taken methamphetamine, reports say BBC and AFP.

Now they have been fired from the temple in Phetchabun province and sent to rehab.

A temple without monks has created problems for the locals. In Buddhism, it is common to give gifts such as food to monks, and in turn collect merit of your own.

    – The fact that the temple is now empty of monks means that nearby villagers are worried that they cannot donate, says the temple’s spokesperson Boonlert Thintapthai, to AFP.

The temple has appealed to the local abbot for help in finding new monks.

Thailand has a big problem with methamphetamine, and in 2021 the drug was seized more than ever.

  • Police cars must have safety lights

The police must be allowed to use the police cars’ “security-creating lights” to a greater extent to show their presence more clearly.

The government has decided this through an amendment to the traffic regulation.

The “identification light” is a fixed, weak, blue light that is on the roof of the cars.

“It is not an alarm signal and does not mean that road users must treat the police vehicle in any particular way,” writes the government in a press release.

    – It has been shown that the light has good effects and now we are making it possible for the police to use it more permanently in order to be seen and create safety both when stationary and while driving, says Infrastructure and Housing Minister Andreas Carlson.
