The world champion was solo in the lead for most of the race. Behind that, Van der Haar battled for the other podium places. He eventually kept the Belgian Eli Iserbyt behind him. Mathieu van der Poel also participated, but he crashed hard in the beginning and lost so much time. He eventually finished thirteenth.
