A large majority of Danes would like to accept more refugees from Ukraine, according to a survey by the opinion institute Voxmeter.

78.5 percent of the people surveyed answered yes to the question of whether Denmark should continue to grant temporary residence permits to Ukrainian refugees if they meet the criteria. The criteria are that Ukrainians who have been internally displaced or left Ukraine after February 24 can receive a residence permit in Denmark for two years.

After that, it is possible to have the temporary residence permit extended by one year. When asked whether the law should be changed so that Ukrainians can have their residence permit extended further, 53.8 percent answer yes, and 24.4 percent no.

The survey was conducted among 1,060 representatively selected people, all of whom were over 18 years of age.

Currently, Denmark has granted temporary residence permits to approximately 31,000 Ukrainian citizens.
