Rogues have traditionally been one of the meaner classes in World of Warcraft when it comes to player versus player (PvP) combat. With the new Dragonflight expansion, a player has now found a way to kill almost any other player before they can even react.
This is how strong villains are right now: According to initial assessments, villains are already at the top of the DPS rankings for the 1st season in Dragonflight in PvE. But now they’re even meaner in PvP than they were in Classic 18 years ago.
Player and Twitch streamer Palumor has found a combination of Subtlety Rogue talents, abilities, and items that can kill just about any other player in just a second or so.
The enemy can’t even fight back because they’re stunned the entire time. And even if he could react quickly enough, the damage is so enormous that most characters would simply fall over.
Still looking for a class to play? Well, villains also land in our recommendations:

How does this work? Palumor uses the Echoing Rebuke and Shadowstrike abilities along with some buffs that give him guaranteed and stronger critical hits. But all this requires precise execution, exact timing and macros to work at all:
If that’s not enough, the finisher Eviscerate can be added to finish off the opponent. Palumor’s damage table shows a total of roughly 300,000 damage in just a few moments.
Here you can see it all in the video:
“I hope they don’t bother”
Palumor calls on all of his fellow rogues to “exploit this before nerfing it.” He firmly believes that villains will not have this option permanently, the damage is just too blatant for that.
Echoing Reproach is the ability given to rogues in Shadowlands after joining the Kyrians. She was already too strong in Shadowlands and was therefore nerfed in PVP. Now, with Dragonflight, the nerfs have all been rolled back.
On the other hand, villains with this skill cannot do anything other than kill an opponent directly. This helps enormously in arenas, but hardly in battlefields. For sustained damage, the build is absolutely useless.
At least this strong combination is not a mistake. But WoW used to have rather strange ones …
If the opponents have a paladin who reacts quickly enough, the rogue has missed the one chance he has. The time until he could use the combo again is simply too long. The Shadow Blades have a 2 minute cooldown and without it a good chunk of damage is lost. Even Echoing Reproach alone takes 45 seconds to restore.
The build is spot on for the class fantasy of the common assassin who can take down a target and then disappear again. It remains to be seen whether he will be nerfed. Rogues are one of the least popular classes anyway, at least for you:
