Van Laarhoven (SCHC) and Veenendaal (Amsterdam) were part of the Dutch team that became world champion last summer. For this special sporting achievement they receive the Utrechtse Sportpenning. The Sports Medal is awarded by the city council to persons or associations who have made themselves particularly meritorious for Utrecht in a branch of sport.
