It has almost been 30 years since Sweden’s feat during the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
But even so, the gunpowder smoke does not seem to have subsided completely.
This after the Brazilian icon Romario now accused Thomas Ravelli of masking.

Haven’t we finished talking about the 1994 World Cup? After all, it is almost 30 years ago. No, not if we ask the former Brazilian ball wizard and superstar Romario. In a post on the website “The Players Tribune”, the brass has written a post aimed at Neymar – but at the same time has taken the opportunity to attack Thomas Ravelli.

Romario’s dick

The main purpose of the text written by Romario is to encourage Neymar not to carry too big a load himself, and the former superstar writes that he recognizes a lot in Neymar’s career.
“People questioned my behavior off the pitch, they criticized my statements to the press and they said I was undisciplined. So I know exactly how you feel,” writes Romario.

As an example, he brings up the semi-final against Sweden in the 1994 World Cup, a match in which Brazil eventually won 1–0 against a slightly worn Swedish national team. The match’s only scorer? Romario of course. In his text, Romario writes about the match and believes that the Swedish goalkeeper Thomas Ravelli did everything to make time pass.
“It was a very tough match. Their goalkeeper saved everything and made a lot of mistakes. The ball didn’t want to go in. But then Jorginho found me between the defenders,” he writes.

“He doesn’t think”

However, Thomas Ravelli does not agree at all that he was cheating – and sends a clear answer back.
– No, I have no recollection of that. Not at all. We also wanted to win the game. If you are leading 1-0, it is clear that you are trying to make time pass. But it wasn’t like that then, says Ravelli according to Expressen.
– They had a hard time with me. They couldn’t get me and they got more and more frustrated. I was in the zone there and felt that “I can solve this, we can fix this”, he says.

Ravelli ends by giving Romario a somewhat tart answer.
– I don’t think Romario is thinking right, but that he perceives it that way in retrospect.
