Registrations for the draw allowing supporters to access the sale of tickets for the Paris Olympic Games open on Thursday 1 December. Procedure, calendar, price… We tell you everything to have a chance to get your precious sesame.
No need to rush to the ticket sales platform, supporters will be able to register for the lottery from this Thursday, December 1, 11 a.m., until January 31, 2023, 6 p.m. According to the organizers, this principle of drawing lots was precisely designed to avoid saturation of the platform and give everyone a chance.
To register, nothing could be simpler: connect to the site from the official Paris Olympics ticket office. You will then need to enter an email address, a few civil status questions and optional questions. Three minutes is enough for this step.
If you are drawn, you will receive an email at the beginning of February to notify you of your sales window. This will take place from February 15 to March 15. You will then have 48 hours to put together your tailor-made pack by choosing at least three disciplines from the thirty-two sports on offer. With a limit all the same: a maximum of thirty tickets per person, and six per reserved event.
A little advice in passing: when registering for the lottery, do not hesitate to register at the same time at the “paris club 2024”. If you are drawn, this subscription will allow you to benefit from the first four days of sale to choose your tickets. A significant way to increase your chances of being able to choose your pack.
Games accessible to all
According to the organizers, the idea is to offer Olympic Games accessible to all. To do this, the organizing committee will therefore offer nearly a million tickets with an entry price of 24 euros for all Olympic sports. Half of the tickets will also be sold at 50 euros and less. Concretely, at the lowest, supporters will therefore have the possibility of buying packs with three disciplines at 72 euros. Conversely, the most expensive pack can cost up to 1,150 euros.
For the poorest, the State and the communities will also set up a social ticket office. Young people from priority neighborhoods, people who have lost their jobs, volunteers and those who work in sports associations will also be able to attend the competitions.
The Games Organizing Committee (Cojo) is also launching a solidarity ticket office. It will allow supporters to make donations on the platform so that charities also benefit from tickets.
Other opportunities to buy tickets
This first phase represents only 3 million tickets out of the 13.4 million on sale for the Olympic and Paralympic events. Everything will remain possible for those who have not had the chance to be drawn during this first stage.
The next one will take place between March and May 2023. This time, tickets will be sold individually. But still with the same draw system. It is also during this phase that tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games will be sold.
A last opportunity to acquire his precious tickets will be possible at the end of 2023. The date has not yet been specified. A total of three sale stages are therefore planned, giving as many chances of obtaining a ticket. Enough to give hope to the most pessimistic supporters!
