Börje Salming has passed away, he was 71 years old.
Now Bianca Salming talks for the first time about the great sadness.
– I find it difficult to talk about it without breaking down. Everything is so surreal, she tells SportExpressen.
Last Thursday fell asleep Börje Salming in and one of Swedish hockey’s biggest profiles left us. After weeks of great acclaim, the news came quickly and much earlier than most expected.
Bianca’s grief
Since then, the Swedish people and the hockey world have showered the departed icon with beautiful words and great tributes. Five days of grief later, daughter Bianca Salming now opens up about her feelings and missing her father.
– In the beginning it was just sadness, an enormous sadness. Then came the anger, you got angry sometimes. And now everything is just unreal. At the same time, it has felt unreal for a long time, ever since we got this news last summer, says the 24-year-old in an interview with SportExpressen.
– It feels like I have now reached the stage where everything just feels so unreal. That it hasn’t happened. The last few days have been like a fog and I’m trying to kind of go with it a bit and keep thinking like that so that I can cope.

It is above all the great love that was sent to Börje Salming during the last period of her life that helps Bianca during her grief. That her father got to experience the beautiful tributes both in Toronto and Avicii Arena means a lot.
– It helps me so much. But I’m mostly glad that Dad got to experience all of this before he passed away. That’s what I feel. It’s hard to talk about it. I’m so happy about people’s appreciation, but for me it’s kind of about my dad, she says to the evening newspaper.

“Has meant everything”
Bianca Salming was by her father’s side until the very end and has heard all the nice things that have been said about him in recent days. When the Swedish people have opened their hearts to honor Börje Salming’s memory.

The 24-year-old is extremely grateful and wants to thank all the greetings that have come in.
– I am very grateful for all the support and love. I know it has meant everything to dad during this time, so I also want to thank him, she says in the interview.
