The Left Party proposes increases of approximately half a billion compared to the current budget. They are the party with the biggest budget so far. The investments are financed by using the surplus that the region has had for a couple of years. The money is directed to public transport and culture, but above all to healthcare.

– We are prioritizing, among other things, increased basic staffing, more nursing places, better nursing wages and shorter working hours. In addition, we invest in increased resources for emergency, maternity and ambulance healthcare and propose reinforcements in intensive care and primary care, says regional councilor Mikael Ekvall (V).

Strengthen health centers

The Liberals also present their own budget proposal and highlight, among other things, an extra wage investment of 50 million. 115 million is set aside over three years to strengthen the health centers in the county. The party also wants pupil health centers to be widely introduced in the county and for the elderly to be set up at the county’s health centres.

– We are taking steps to close the gap in young people’s care so that more people receive support in time. In the same way, we equip care for the elderly so that you can be assured of dignified treatment, says regional councilor Jimmy Ekström (L) in his press release.
