The big shock of this year’s Oscars is still an issue in Hollywood. This is partly due to the fact that after several months, Will Smith is now radio station reported back in public. The reason for this is the start of the press tour for his next potential Oscar nominee: Emancipation.

The film was shown to a small audience for the first time in October. The first reactions to Emancipation were euphoric. Smith is now facing further interviews. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he looks back on Oscar night where he performed Chris Rock in front of the cameras punched in the face Has.

Before Emancipation: Will Smith reflects on the Oscar scandal

Smith is aware that his actions have consequences. Still, he hopes the release of Emancipation doesn’t suffer.

The only discomfort […] is that so many people work on spectacular [Emancipation] have done. I hope my team will not punished for my actions. I think [Regisseur Antoine Fuqua] and [Kameramann Robert Richardson] and Ben and Charmaine – all did such spectacular work.

The Oscar slap was also an issue during his appearance on the Daily Show yesterday. Smith speaks of a night that has stuck with him ever since.

That was a horrible night as you can imagine. There are many nuances and complexities. But at the end of the day I just lost control. I went through something that night. Not that that would justify my behavior… there were a lot of things going on inside me.

One moment, in which Smith became awarewhat he had done was when his nephew asked him: “Why did you hit that man, Uncle Will?” It looks like Smith has been pondering this question a lot over the past few months. “This is not who I want to be”he says on the Daily Show.
