Finland has offered to buy missiles and cruise bombs used in fighter planes.

The United States has approved a possible arms sale of 323 million dollars, or about 310 million euros, to Finland. The DSCA, the agency responsible for US arms sales abroad, informs about the matter.

According to the press release, Finland has offered to buy 40 AIM-9X Block II missiles and 48 AGM-154 JSOW cruise bombs. The weapons are intended to be used in the fighter aircraft of the Defense Forces.

– Finland will not have any difficulties in connecting these supplies to the operations of its defense forces, the release states.

According to the release, the deal will develop Finland’s performance in air combat weapons and air-to-ground weapons, and strengthen US relations in the Nordic countries.

The release also states that the deal strengthens the security of a “trusted partner” in addition to US foreign policy and national security. Finland is also described as an important factor in political stability and economic development in Europe.

At the beginning of November, DSCA announced that the US had approved an arms sale to Finland worth about half a billion dollars. At that time, a possible trade in ammunition for heavy rocket launcher systems was approved.
