The Portuguese, who had already beaten Ghana with difficulty (3-2) when they entered the competition, were more effective against Uruguay, this Monday, November 28 at the stadium of Lusail. They won 2-0. Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring after the break, on a cross shot that Cristiano Ronaldo did not deviate from with a header (54th). At the end of the game, and while La Celeste was trying to come back and had hit the post, Fernandes scored twice from the penalty spot (90 + 3rd). With 6 points, Portugal are through to the round of 16 ahead of their third and final match in Group H against South Korea on 2 December. Uruguay will absolutely have to beat Ghana on the same day to hope to survive the first round.
