For almost a week Percy the owl has been on the run from Skansen in Stockholm. But now a breakthrough may have been made in the investigations after the escape.

On Sunday evening, Skansen’s animal keeper was sent to Lidingö after a large owl was seen in a tree, reports P4 Stockholm.

– We consider it very, very likely and very realistic that it could be our owl, so we jumped right in, says Skansen’s head of communications Yvonne Nordlind to the channel.

But when the zookeepers arrived, the owl was gone.

Percy and his dad Barr escaped last week after their aviary collapsed under the weight of the snow. Barr was quickly captured, but Percy has so far stayed away.

Yvonne Nordlind doesn’t think he’s in any trouble.

– They were very well in the aviary, they had eaten well. They were in good spirits, so to speak. They can go without food for quite some time.
