Thanks to the expansion of the zones where parking must be paid for and an increase in the rates, the municipality expects revenues to increase considerably.
According to Utrecht, income from permits will increase from 1.36 million euros in 2023 to 1.55 million euros in 2024. Income from short-term parking will increase particularly sharply: from 3.34 million euros in 2023 to 8.7 million euros in 2024.
In total, the municipality must be able to increase its income from 4.7 million in 2023 to 10.32 million a year later. In 2026, this must have risen to 19.25 million euros.
