(Finance) – With the project of the new boarding area A of Fiumicino airport – which was inaugurated on 18 May in the presence of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella – Rome airports was awarded the “The Plan Real Estate Award” promoted in collaboration with “Scenari Immobiliari” in the “Public Infrastructures and Facilities” category. The award has been accepted by Marilena Blasi, Chief Commercial Officer of Adr.
The new boarding area A was designed and built by Adr respecting the environment according to Leed assessment and certification criteria; (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design); Gold level, an international guarantee scheme for the design, construction and management of sustainable buildings. The work is in fact equipped with a photovoltaic system on the roof made with monocrystalline silicon panels that will power the infrastructure, it has systems for climate treatment through radiant floor panels and is mainly illuminated by natural light thanks to the large windows positioned on the ceiling similar to real portholes. All the artificial lighting was created with innovative LED technologies. Connected to Terminal 1, the structure, which is spread over 3 levels, one of which is underground which houses the technological centers and technical rooms, covers an area of 37,000 square metres. It has 23 gates (13 with boarding bridges and 10 remote gates) equipped with technology “touchless”, which allows the passenger to carry out the boarding procedures autonomously and quickly; nursery; commercial activities (21 points of sale that represent the Italian excellence of shopping and food); playgrounds; tuxedo cabins; work areas and VIP rooms.
