SVT expert Jonas Eriksson went hard on a tackle that could have ended Christian Eriksen’s career.
But that only makes the Dane laugh at the Swede’s antics.
– It was no surprise, says Eriksen according to SportExpressen.
The World Cup group stage match between Denmark and Tunisia ended goalless thanks to two good goalkeepers for the day. But it was already heating up early on when Tunisia’s hot weather started Aissa Laidouni bet heavily against Denmark’s Christian Eriksen.
Eriksen tackled
Laidouni flew in with an outstretched leg and did hit the ball, but it was a violent effort against the Dane. And it caused strong reactions in the SVT studio.
– That is so delicate. One decimeter to the side and Christian Eriksen’s career could be over, said the SVT expert and former star judge Jonas Eriksson in a move and was supported by his expert colleague.
– I think it was foolish of him, even if he hits the ball. Otherwise, Eriksen would probably have gone out injured for the rest of the WC. I like players who bet, but this was too much, says Nilla Fischer in the studio.

But Eriksen did not experience the tackle in the same way at all and could only laugh at the harsh words in the SVT studio after the match.
– He should have received a red card! Haha, no, I’m just kidding. It was no surprise that he would come flying. We knew they would play with a lot of intensity and we were too slow and sluggish in the first half to stay away from those situations, admits Eriksen according to SportExpressen.

“I laughed”
The Danish World Cup star also had a smile on his face immediately after the tackle, which the TV cameras caught.
– Yes, I laughed at that. Tunisians are very emotional. It’s not every day you celebrate a tackle like he did, it’s something they did in England a lot of years ago, he says after the match.

Laidouni also takes his tackle quite lightly, but wants to emphasize that it was important for Tunisia to gain energy in the match. But he did not try to harm Eriksen in any way.
– I have nothing against Eriksen or anyone in the Danish team. They are a very good team and I wish them the best of luck at the WC, he says according to the evening newspaper.
