The vaccine provides “fantastic protection” against serious illness and hospital admissions, but does not protect against other Covid-related problems such as concentration problems, fatigue, difficulty breathing and changes in taste and smell.
The researchers compared two groups of patients confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus who were either vaccinated or unvaccinated and followed them up three to fifteen months after infection. Participants were asked to fill out a self-report form, and the results were compared to a control group that was not infected.
According to the studypublished in the scientific journal International Society for Infectious Diseases, however, the vaccine may provide protection against memory loss.
