Police have fired warning shots in connection with an operation in Upplands Väsby north of Stockholm. Four people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

– We received an alarm at 1 p.m. that explosions had been heard in an industrial area. We have spoken to witnesses and the perception is that it was people in a car who fired weapons. No one is injured, says Carina Skagerlind, police spokesperson.

The four people were arrested at the car a little while later “some distance from the crime scene”.

– When we find this car, the people run from the car. In connection with our stopping them, warning shots were fired. No one was injured there either, says Skagerlind.

The police are at the scene and continue to work with trace protection and witness interviews.

Carina Skagerlind cannot comment on whether the shots from the car were aimed at a specific target. She also does not want to go into more detail about the suspects.

– We are still talking to witnesses and do not have the whole picture completely clear, she says.

Because the police fired a service weapon, a routine report has been made to the police’s internal investigation, Special Investigations.
