When we talk about resistance to French colonization in Algeria in the 19th century, the name that comes up most often is that of Emir Abdelkader. But a young woman, Lalla Fadhma N’Soumer, also played a big role between 1854 and 1857, before being arrested by the French army and dying in prison, aged 33. This epic is traced in the show Lalla Fadhma N’Soumer, Kabyle heroine this Tuesday, November 22 at the Jacques-Brel hall in Gonesse, near Paris, as part of the Africolor festival.
A show written and directed by Vladimir Cagnolari, with Evelyne El Garby Klai in the role of the fighter, and Ali Amran on vocals and guitar.
