Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will meet Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti in Brussels on Monday, Vucic announced. On the agenda is an attempt to resolve a conflict over license plates.

Kosovo has decided that around 10,000 Kosovo Serbs with Serbian license plates must exchange them in April, or face warnings, fines and, in the worst case, driving bans. The sign order has prompted Serbs in northern Kosovo to resign from public authorities in protest, and demonstrations have been held.

The US has asked Kosovo to postpone the sign reform.

Kosovo declared independence in 2008, but Serbia has not accepted the breakaway. In the Serb-dominated northern part of Kosovo, resistance is strong and many are still politically loyal to Serbia.
