New Marvel series at Amazon: That’s behind Silk: Spider Society
As Variety reports, the Marvel real-life series Silk: Spider Society has officially received the green light. Angela Kang is the creative mind behind the project, which has developed into a Showrunner of The Walking Dead made a name. In addition, there is a connection to Spider-Man: A New Universe.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller who do this animated Spider-Man universe at Sony, also act as producers for Silk: Spider Society. Sony Pictures Television is the studio behind the Marvel series, which will be released in the US first on MGM+ before worldwide distribution on Amazon.

At the center of the story is the boy Cindy Moon. The American-Korean woman in the comics is bitten by the same spider that gave Peter Parker his superhuman powers. Cindy is on the run from prison looking for her family – now as the superhero Silk.
It’s not yet clear who will star in Silk: Spider Society. It is also questionable whether and how the project with already exist connected to Marvel projects is. It would be quite conceivable that Sony would allow various overlaps.
