The Independent Electoral Commission (CEI) is launching an operation to revise the electoral lists from this Saturday, November 18. It will last three weeks until December 10, 2022.

To date, the file has 7 million voters. The Electoral Commission hopes to enlist a million new registrants. It mainly targets young people. This operation will also be carried out with the diaspora. This campaign must also take stock of the deceased, who are still on the file.
To achieve this, the Electoral Commission will mobilize some 2,800 teams in the field: door-to-door, awareness meetings… everything is done to encourage voters to register.
All the political parties are also mobilized, because they all have the local elections of October 2023 in mind. Motivated, but with a touch of bitterness for some: at the PDCI, for example, we continue to demand an audit of the file, to extract suspected fraudulent voters, “ the goal ultimatelyis to have confidence in the Electoral Commission “, explains Soumaïla Bredoumy, the spokesperson for this opposition party.
For his part, the president of the IEC wants to be reassuring: “ no need to do an audit, since we do it systematically, when revising the lists “says Ibrahim Coulibaly Kuibiert. The lists will then be posted for more transparency, says this official.
