The crime scene investigation of the leaks on the gas pipelines Nordstream 1 and 2 outside Bornholm has shown that there are remnants of explosives on the pipelines. The incident is considered to be gross sabotage.
No specific lab
The chemical traces found will point out the type of explosives involved. But according to Hans Liwång, researcher at the Norwegian Defense Academy, it will probably be a “fairly general type”.
– It will not single out a specific lab or a specific manufacturer. But maybe what kind of explosive, he says.
Hans Liwång believes that the findings are an important piece of the puzzle, but that more evidence is needed to pinpoint the culprit.
Hear him reason about the explosives in the clip above.
