GTA Movie turned down by RockStar
According to a podcast published recently, Rockstar Games turned down the offer for a Grand Theft Auto movie starring Eminem. Proving his success in acting with the movie 8 Mile, Eminem will play, and Tony Scott, whom we know from the movie Top Gun, was considered as the director of the movie.
The podcast states that “Kirk Ewing, a friend of Rockstar founders Sam and Dan Houser, came to him with a deal from a Hollywood agent.” The brothers were offered $5 million by Top Gun director Tony Scott for the rights to a movie starring Eminem. However, Sam Houser told the agent they were “not interested”.
Although no movie has been made for GTA so far, it would not be a lie to say that world-famous stars lined up to be able to voice the series. Samuel L Jackson voiced the main antagonist Frank Tenpenny in GTA: San Andreas. In addition, celebrities such as Ray Liotta, Ricky Gervais and Frankie Boyle took their places in the productions of the series.
