If you have a graphics card with an Nvidia GPU in your PC, quickly install the new version of the driver: it fixes a big problem under Windows 11 while bringing many improvements.
Since the release of the latest version of Windows 11, known as 22H2, many PC gamers have been complaining of various problems – frame freezes, performance drop, CPU overload, crashes… – which prevent them from enjoying the full experience. their games despite the power of their configuration. These concerns mainly concerned models with an Nvidia circuit-based graphics card, in particular the famous GeForce GTX and RTX GPUs, which saw their performance seriously reduced. A disappointment that even prompted some gamers to return to Windows 10, more stable and better finished. If Nvidia played transparency by communicating regularly on the subject, Microsoft was very discreet at first, before officially acknowledging the problem. “Certain games and applications may experience lower performance than expected, or stutter on Windows 11 version 22H2. Affected games and applications inadvertently enable GPU performance debugging features that are not intended for use by end users”explained the publisher in a press release.
Fortunately, this bad episode is coming to an end and everything is finally back to normal. First, because Microsoft has released several Windows 11 22H2 updates with various fixes and additions (see our article). Then, because Nvidia just released a new version of its GeForce Game Ready driver. Numbered 526.98 and available for all GeForce models, regardless of GPU model and graphics card manufacturer, this new version does not just solve the problems encountered with Windows 11: it also brings several functional improvements.
Nvidia Game Ready Driver 526.98: Full of Improvements
Thus, the new Game Ready driver supports more DLSS games – including new DLSS 3 compatible titles, such as the highly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales –, this technology of Deep Learning Super Sampling developed by Nvidia for its RTX GPUs which increases definition – and therefore improves display quality – with scaling managed by artificial intelligence. In addition, version 526.98 of Game Ready supports HRD10+, this very popular standard which increases the dynamic range of images – on compatible screens, of course! It also incorporates Nvidia RTX IO technology, which significantly speeds up game loading by putting the GPU to work for DirectStorage decompression. Finally, Nvidia points out that Game Ready supports twelve new G-Sync compatible gaming screens, its adaptive (variable) refresh rate technology: the AOC AG275QX, AG325QX, PD27S and Q32G3WG3, the Asus PG42UQ, VG249QM1A and XG32UQ, the Corsair 32QHD240, the Eve ES07D02 and the Philips 27M1N5900, TV FTV OLED907 and TV FTV OLED937.
To download and install the new version of the Game Ready driver, simply go to the dedicated page of the Nvidia site and launch the automatic update – recommended method – or carry out a manual search, indicating the model, operating system, etc. Note that the GeForce Experience software – whose installation is highly recommended as it provides interesting functions – significantly simplifies the operation by carrying out the update automatically. And don’t confuse Game Ready drivers – which are optimized for best performance in video games – with Studio drivers for graphics, video and streaming professionals who value stability over pure speed.
