Just a few days ago, a Swedish heat record was set when the temperature reached nearly 17 degrees in several parts of the country, including in Småland’s Oskarshamn and Gladhammar.
But the heat did not last long – because now snowfall is expected.
SMHI: Heaviest snowfall along the coast of Småland
In the coming days, it will be more classic November weather, which includes both snow and cold.
– It moves in during Saturday and Sunday, starting over the Baltic Sea, and it will hit large parts of Götaland and also up over Svealand. Actually, even the southernmost parts of Norrland can get snow during Sunday, says Marcus Letalickmeteorologist at SMHI, to News24.
However, it is still difficult to predict the amount of snow.
– There are still a couple of days left, so exactly how much snow will come is a little early to speculate, but it will be heaviest along the coast of Småland.
Cooler temperatures await
What temperatures can we then expect?
– We have had a start to this month that has been mild for the time of year, but now we have moved down towards a few plus degrees and down towards zero and towards the weekend it will continue to be around zero degrees in Götaland. In Norrland it is, of course, significantly colder, says Marcus Letalick and continues:
– But in this area, which is now receiving the first proper snowfall, the temperature there will be around zero degrees to approximately four degrees below zero.
