Last week it leaked out that ProSieben Schlag was relaunching the best. The show was introduced as an alternative to Schlag den Raab after main protagonist Stefan Raab retired in 2015. However, due to falling ratings, the broadcaster discontinued the series. As DWDL reports, the revival is to follow this year.
These are the broadcast dates for Schlag den Beste
ProSieben will produce two issues, both of which will run one week apart, incidentally on non-match days of the World Cup in Qatar. The broadcaster does the same with the broadcast of the Autoball World Cup.

ProSieben changes the game mode from Schlag denBesten
Beat the Best differs from the still successful “Star” variant in one crucial detail: Here normal people fight against each other in sports competitions, games of skill and quizzes for prize money. If a participant won the duel, he or she competed again in the next episode – and the win was doubled.
So there is much more at stake than when Lena Meyer-Landrut and Lena Gercke fight a duel. It’s all about honor, while Thomas Meier from Wuppertal can herald a new chapter in his life with 50,000 euros. This height of fall was one of the great attractions of the Raab original.
ProSieben varies the mode for the comeback and not too closely. Candidate Björn, who triumphed before hiring, returns for the revival. But he no longer fights against individual candidates who challenge him on the show. He has to a total of 10 participants. There is a new opponent for each game. The winner then decides who will play the next singles game against Björn.
Also: The respective winners of a game will be rewarded with a non-cash prize. So every game is about something. Previously, tension built up gradually during a Beat the Best/Star game.
What do you think of the new mode?
