In Pokémon GO there were problems with the shapeshifter Zorua. The developers have now responded – and are distributing a few more items.
The official Pokémon GO account reported on Twitter on November 15, 2022 and announced that there were a few changes to Zorua (via Twitter).
The Pokémon was released on October 25th, but brought a few problems with its debut. You can read more about this below. Now the following happens:
A free box will also be released in the shop as compensation. In it you will find a total of 22 items:
In the shop, scroll under the outfits to where you can normally also pick up the daily free box. At this point you will now find the new free box.
A notice: The box appears to be rolling out gradually and may arrive sooner for some trainers than others. So don’t be surprised if it’s not there right away and if in doubt, restart the game.
What happened to Zorua in Pokémon GO?
That happened: Niantic had come up with a special surprise event for the release of the shape-shifting Pokémon Zorua.
The plan: During the spotlight hour with Shuppet, you should bring your buddy with you, only to suddenly find many spawns of this monster for a few minutes. For example, if you had a Pikachu as a sidekick, the wilderness should fill up with Pikachu, who should then turn out to be Zorua when caught.
At least that’s how the event was intended. However, in early time zones such as New Zealand, Zorua inherited the stats such as size, HP, and moves of the imitated Pokémon.
Trainers could get Zorua with insanely high values and too strong attacks – this is now being corrected.
Due to this error, the event did not even take place in this country and the release was postponed – to October 28th. Now Zorua could just show up in the wild and mimic a sidekick there.
But that’s where the second mistake came in: when trainers caught Zorua with gadgets like the GO Plus, it just stayed in the imitated form and didn’t transform into its actual form. Of course, that was especially fun when you had legendary monsters as your buddy and suddenly you could multiply super-rare monsters.
Due to this error, the GO Plus and other Bluetooth catching gadgets were disabled and later re-enabled.
According to Niantic, these “transformed” Zorua should now also be converted into their actual form.
What do you think of the redemption? And were you able to catch a Zorua? Tell us in the comments!
