Child and Family Services of Grand Erie is asking the community to help ensure no child or youth is left out this Christmas.
For many years, local businesses, community groups, families and individuals in Brant, Haldimand, Norfolk, Mississaugas of the Credit and Six Nations of the Grand River, have partnered with Child and Family Services staff to organize toy drives, contribute funds, and donate gifts in place of exchanging gifts with each other.
The Season of Sharing campaign offers several opportunities to give:
- Wishes: Be matched with a family to provide unwrapped gifts from their wish list.
- Dreams: Donate unwrapped toys in bulk, to be gifted to children.
- Needs: Donate basic needs items from Child and Family Services’ ongoing needs list.
- Ambitions: Donate gift cards in denominations of $25 to be distributed to youth.
- Hopes: Donate funds to the Season of Sharing campaign through CanadaHelps online. Click on the donation tab at cfsge.ca or use the QR code. Tax receipts will be automatically provided.
All financial donations will be used to directly support families, provide toys or gift cards based on individual age and interests and/or provide staples to help make the holiday season a bit brighter.
Donations received prior to Dec. 2 will ensure sufficient time for delivery of gifts. Volunteers are needed to help sort and allocate gifts.
Call Season of Sharing co-ordinator Laura at 289-527-0240 to make arrangements for a donation drop off at either the Child and Family Services office at 70 Town Center Dr. in Townsend, or at 14 Henry St. in Brantford.
