Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United ahead of last season has not been a great success. And since coach Erik ten Hag arrived this summer, the Portuguese has been teased at times and rumors that he wants to leave the club have abounded – both before and during the season.
In a 90-minute interview on the talk show “Piers Morgan Uncensored”, which will be broadcast in its entirety on Wednesday and Thursday, Ronaldo talks about how he feels a lack of respect, that many at the club do not want him there and that he feels betrayed .
In The Sun, Piers Morgan writes out parts of what will come in the TV interview. Among other things, Ronaldo directs a serious volley at coach ten Hag.
— I have no respect for him, because he shows no respect for me. If you don’t show me respect, I will never show you respect back, he says.
Ronaldo says he wants supporters to know the truth. He also says that Manchester United need to be rebuilt from the ground up and he has no problem leaving in order for that to be done.
“If they start with me, it’s not a problem,” he says and continues:
— I love Manchester United, I love the fans. They are always on my side. But if they want to do it differently, they have to change many, many things.
