(Finance) – The program Open Data for smart and sustainable cities from Enel X was awarded theEco-Hitech Awardthe prize announced by LUMI to enhance the projects of excellence of companies and public administrations in terms of energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, services to citizens and digitization of territories.

The award was given in Rimini as part of Key Energy, the Italian event dedicated to energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable cities. Enel X’s initiative received a mention special in the Ecological transition category for the wealth of energy and environmental data at the basis of its program, capable of supporting data-driven policies at local authorities and contributing to the ecological transition of the territories.

The Open Data program for smart and sustainable cities was launched by Enel X in 2021 to enhance the huge and precious amount of open data and derive three useful indicators to support the sustainable transition of cities. The indices, entirely calculated from Open Data collected by sources public and scientifically validated, guarantee maximum coverage for all Common Italianseven the smallest ones, constituting powerful tools available to PAs to gain greater awareness of their own territory, define the priorities of sustainability interventions and support the decision-making processes of urban planning.
