(Finance) – Irideosthe Italian ICT hub created by an initiative of F2i and dedicated to companies and the Public Administration, during the event Digital-MI organized for the Milan Digital Week and in the presence of the President of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fountaininaugurated the new Avalon 3 data center, the largest certified and hyper-connected data center in Milan, part of Avalon Campus, the largest Internet interconnection point in the country.
In the world of data center the concentration of the networks is essential: it is not enough to host the servers and therefore the data, but it is necessary that this data can be sent and received in the shortest possible time. And this is only possible when many telecommunications networks, which reach any area of the country and the world, meet in a single point. This point, in Italy, is Milan, with the IRIDEOS Avalon Campus inside the Caldera Business Park. Avalon 3 is now added to this Campus which, thanks to thousands of optical fibers, constitutes an extension to all intents and purposes.

Avalon3, powered 100% by renewable energy, is an example of environmental sustainability thanks to the technologies used, in fact the building and the data center are classified at the highest levels of the LEED standard (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and has very high standards of energy efficiency. The solutions adopted in Avalon3 have also made it possible to obtain the highest levels of certification in the data center industry (Rating 4) and to be fully in line with the most stringent requirements of the PNRR.
With a capacity of 500 racks and 3.2 MW of power, Avalon 3 can host the equipment or even entire customer data centers, who can also access public Clouds or build hybrid Cloud architectures to accelerate their digitization processes. interconnect with over 165 operators, Over the Top, streaming platforms and Cloud providers already hosted in the Avalon Campus of IRIDEOS.
