The painting, which is worth at least one and a half million euros, was stolen from the Singer Laren museum on March 30, 2020 by 59-year-old Nils M. from Baarn. He has now been sentenced to eight years in prison for the theft of the Van Gogh and the painting ‘Two laughing boys’ by Frans Hals. Since it is under lock and key, it appears that someone else now owns the painting and sent the email.
