Control 2 announced, budget much bigger than first game
The producer of the game, Mikael Kasurinen, made the following statement on the subject:
“With Control 2 we are leaping into the unknown. It will be an unexpected journey and it will take time. But I can honestly say that this is the most exciting project I’ve ever worked on. We’re still at a very early stage, but it will be worth the wait.
Although it owns the Remedy Control brand, it will develop the game together with 505 Games studio. In this process, game development and advertising expenses and revenues will be equally distributed among the companies. While Remedy is working on the PC version of the game, 505 Games will take care of console adaptations. Control 2’s budget will be around $51 million, which means at least $20 million more than the budget for the first game (about $30 million).
Control 2 isn’t the only game Remedy is working on, actually the company is pretty busy. It is even emphasized that Remedy focuses on Alan Wake 2.
