Regime-critical protests were carried out in Iran in connection with the Friday prayer in the provinces of Sistan and Baluchistan. Several hundred men gathered after the prayer in a mosque in the city of Zahedan and chanted demands for the resignation of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Information about the protest comes from the Oslo-based human rights organization IHR.
The demonstration was a new demonstration against the regime after the death of Mahsa Amini since her arrest in mid-September and after the attacks on demonstrators on September 30 in Zahedan in the south-eastern part of Iran when at least 90 people were killed by security forces.
More than 300 people have been killed in anti-regime protests since mid-September, according to estimates by human rights organizations and the United Nations.
Several independent experts appointed by the UN Human Rights Council demanded on Friday that Iran end threats of the death penalty against those who participate in anti-regime protests.
