This weekend is the Swedish premiere in biathlon in Idre Fjäll.
On the starting line are the Swedish superstars – who have high expectations for themselves ahead of the coming season.
SVT expert Björn Ferry now points out a specific name that he believes in extra strongly.
The biathlon season 2022/2023 is just around the corner and this weekend there are stars like Hanna Öberg and Elvira Öberg with the premiere in Idre Fjäll. For Hanna last year there were a total of five podium places, two of which were gold in the World Cup, while sister Elvira answered with nine podium places, including a total of five gold medals. With this in their luggage, the two sisters are now painted as favourites.
The Norwegian setbacks
It is of course common knowledge that Norway is the big competitor for Sweden – but the season upload for the two Norwegian stars Marte Olsbu Röiseland and Tiril Eckhoff has been reluctant to say the least.

Röiseland – who took home three golds and two bronzes at the Beijing Olympics last winter – missed two months of pre-season training this summer after contracting shingles, which has meant she has not been able to fully train until now.
– I have hopes of participating in the World Cup premiere in Kontiolathti at the end of the month, she has previously said in an interview with Norwegian VG.
Even Tiril Eckhof has had big problems with his upload. She has struggled with sleep problems and has also had long-term problems after a covid infection in March this year.
The expert’s praise
For the Swedish part I think Bjorn Ferry that it will be a success in the World Cup. The SVT expert particularly believes in the Öberg sisters.
– Like many others, I have Elvira as my favourite. I actually think Hanna is the biggest contender. The Norwegians seem to be a bit so and so with and the Belarusians are not allowed to be, says Ferry in a chat on SVT.

The riders from Belarus are therefore not included due to suspension. The World Cup starts on November 29 in Kontiolahti, Finland.
