It was reported that the armed attackers, who fled by minibus after the attack, left a written message on cardboard at the scene. According to the message left, the attack is thought to be a showdown between two cartels operating in the region.
In the statement made by the Guanajuato State Attorney General’s Office, it was stated that the security forces affiliated to the federal and state units were conducting investigations at the scene, and the investigation was continuing to clarify the incident.
