Loui Eriksson is back in the SHL and Frölunda after 17 years abroad.
The forward has signed a contract that extends over the rest of the season.
– I have always said that I want to end my career in Frölunda, he says to the club’s website.
He played for Frölunda during the lockout season in the 2004/2005 NHL, then it was a success when the team took home the SM gold in a convincing way. Loui Eriksson then left Sweden and has since played over 1,000 games in the NHL for four different clubs.
Returning to the SHL

– Yes, there will be a reunion with Joel. We have been followed in our careers, in Frölunda, the national team and Dallas, says Eriksson to Frölunda’s website.

“Passionate about Frölunda”
Even though Loui Eriksson has not played a single match since April, it is a fully committed player who joins the Gothenburg club.
– We have had an ongoing dialogue with Loui since last summer and now we got it together. We wanted to and Loui was eager and determined, he is really passionate about Frölunda. But we understand that it will take some time before he is ready for the match, says sporting director Fredrik Sjöström.
