The police are investigating Kronfagel farm for animal cruelty
The police: Measures have been taken

Aftonbladet’s investigative program 200 seconds reveals how the chickens are doing on one of Kronfågel’s farms.

The sneaky videos show sick and injured chickens.

Now the police are investigating whether the Crownfågel’s breeder has been guilty of animal cruelty.

Pictures taken inside a barn on the farm show chickens unable to walk and chickens with inflamed hindquarters.

– The animals are subjected to a great deal of suffering and should get help or be euthanized to avoid suffering, says veterinarian Johan Beck-Friis.

Now the police have started a preliminary investigation against the chicken breeder after a police report from the organization Djurens Rätt.

The matter is being investigated as suspected animal cruelty.

– It is an ongoing preliminary investigation, says Inspector Peter Steude at the police in Strängnäs.

– In order to get a better picture of the case, a number of investigative measures have been taken. What the measures are about is nothing that I want to go into and the result of them I don’t want to go into either. A prosecutor will take a position on the matter, but when that may happen I cannot answer, says Steude.
