Deschamps reveals the 25 summoned to the France team

Didier Deschamps, coach of the French football team, has unveiled a list of 25 players called up to play in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (November 20-December 18).

Didier Deschamps, the coach of the French football team, unveiled this November 9, 2022 a list of 25 players summoned to face Australia (November 22), Denmark (November 26) and Tunisia (November 30) in Group D of the World Cup.

Deprived of midfielders Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante, both packages due to injuries, Didier Deschamps will rely in Qatar on his captain Hugo Lloris, defender Raphaël Varane and his stars in attack, Karim Benzema, Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappé .

Deschamps, captain of the Blues crowned in 1998 and coach of those who won in 2018, will try to do what no selection has done for 60 years: retain the world title. For this, he took few risks among the elements selected for this 2022 World Cup (November 20-December 18), even if some players may be disappointed, like goalkeeper Mike Maignan, injured and who was uncertain for the start of the competition.

In the end, 11 of the 2018 world champions should be part of the next edition. And 14 of the 26 players who were present at Euro 2021 will normally be present in Qatar.
