Twice as big! Doctors couldn’t believe their eyes: No bigger was seen

Twice as big Doctors couldnt believe their eyes No bigger

The baby born in August in Australia with a tumor two times larger than himself is on the agenda. It was thought that the baby born three months premature would not survive. Doctors named the tiny warrior a ‘miracle baby’.

HE WAS BORN WITH A TWO-KLOOM TUMOR IN THE coccyx

Saylor Thomson was born in August at Mater Mothers’ Hospital. A two-kilogram tumor had grown in the coccyx of the baby, which weighed about one kilogram. When the mother was 20 weeks pregnant, it was stated that the chance of survival of the baby was 25 to 40 percent.

THE OPERATION TAKED SIX HOURS

Just minutes after her birth, a team of 25 began a 6-hour operation to remove the tumor, known as a sacrococcygeal teratoma.

Two months after the operation, doctors announced that the “miracle baby” Saylor had made a “fantastic recovery” and was getting stronger.

Professor Saliesh Kumar, who was part of the team, said that they had never taken such a large tumor from a baby in the hospital before. The doctor said in a statement that they did not know why the tumor was growing. It originates from embryonic germ cells and is 4 times more likely to occur in female babies.

MOTHER RECEIVED HIS BABY AFTER 10 DAYS

Mother Rachel Thomson, on the other hand, described their daughter as “strong, willful and a little warrior”. The mother was able to hold her daughter in her arms only 10 days after the birth.

“I cried a lot when social workers and surgeons said that he had little chance of survival because of premature birth and tumor,” Thomson said.
