The former great player Håkan Loob reaped great success during his time as an active hockey player.
For SVT, the legend is now highlighting his Swedish All Star Team, where a whole bunch of legends take their place.
Loob also highlights three players he believes stand out at each position.
Håkan Loob, 62, is one of Sweden’s all-time most successful hockey players. He had his career heyday in the 1980s where he won the Stanley Cup with his Calgary Flames in the 1988-1989 season. The season before, he also scored 50 goals in one season – a number that he is still the only Swede to achieve today.
Loob’s record
Loob also holds the SHL record for the most points scored in a season, when he scored a whopping 76 points for his Färjestad during the regular season in the 1982-1983 season.

Loob’s dream team
Ahead of the Tidernas Hockey Gala, which takes place on November 17, Loob has now revealed to SVT which Swedish hockey players will take a place in his dream team – and it’s not just any players.

Loob also highlights three players who he thinks stand out a little extra, and these three are goalkeeper Henrik Lundqvist, defender Nicklas Lidström and forward Peter Forsberg. When Loob publishes the text about the three gentlemen, it sounds like this:
Henrik Lundqvist:
“The absolute leading player in the New York Rangers for many years and at all levels and that also applies in Tre Kronor where he had a decisive role in the Olympic gold in 2006. Henrik is over time the best goalkeeper that Sweden has had”.

Nicklas Lidström:
“A complete back, both offensively and defensively and a game with weight. Won the prize as the NHL’s best defender on seven occasions and that really says it all”.
Peter Forsberg:
“He could play fine hockey with the hard game as well. He both gave and received hits, especially in Colorado where he won two Stanley Cups. A complete forward”.
