Pekka Lindmark is one of Swedish hockey’s true greats.
And he is also one of the most beautiful profiles of all time.
Now the hockey icon reveals his favorite team in the SHL – and for which he has never actually played.
He really is a unique hockey player, the good one Peter Lindmark. The legendary cage guard became “Pekka” with the entire Swedish people and has charmed hockey lovers ever since the breakthrough in the late 70s.
Pekka’s career
Above all, for his incredible efforts on the ice and his rugged ability to stop pucks. But Pekka Lindmark also became incredibly popular for his wonderful personality both on and off the ice.

The northerner will go down in history as one of Tre Kronor’s foremost goalkeeper legends and helped win 2 WC golds, 3 WC silvers and 1 Olympic bronze in the national team uniform. The hockey icon can also proudly display 4 SM gold at club level for the teams Färjestad and Malmö.

Favorite team
In total, there were a total of 174 international matches in the cage for Tre Kronor. But the most powerful thing is that the Swede was named the world’s best goalkeeper twice during his career, in 1981 and 1986.

Pekka Lindmark has played for Kiruna AIF, IFK Kiruna, Timrå IK, Färjestads BK and Malmö IF over the years and after his goalkeeping career he settled in Piteå, where he still lives today. These days, the goalie icon lives a reclusive life, but he still keeps an eye on what’s happening in Swedish hockey.

Now Lindmark also reveals which is his big favorite team in hockey, and he actually names two teams. But it is therefore none of the teams that he himself has played in that he considers his favorite team.
– As a northerner, I have to answer Skellefteå and Luleå, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Malmö will survive, he says in a new interview with the local newspaper Värmlands Folkblad.
