The new budget will affect each of us, says our savings economist Frida Bratt, who has taken a look at how the new budget will affect your wallet. Bratt can state that the budget is generally restrained and it is clear that the Swedish economy is judged to be in a recession in 2023 with both high inflation and rising interest costs that will weigh on the household economy.
Budget winners and losers
Here, Bratt goes through the budget’s winners and losers and can state that there will be no big winners, but no big losers either. The A-fund is maintained, which is positive and a promise of continued protection for financially vulnerable groups such as families with children.
Motorists and able-bodied people over 65 will also benefit in the new budget. However, there was no announcement about the amortization requirement where many were waiting for an announcement, says Bratt. Considering the country’s economic situation, the budget does not offer any major surprises. It will be more about the ören instead of kroner. Rising interest rates, electricity prices and rising food costs in any case.
